"I come from a proud family that has been involved in public service for as long as I can remember. I want to work for you. We need to create more living wage jobs, improve our schools, and make public safety a priority.
I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate complicated governmental agencies, and get things done. I serve the community directly understanding their concerns and needs. I have volunteered for five years in community service to improve my community."
LIST OF ISSUES
EDUCATION
Although elected school board members are directly responsible for the quality of education offered in our schools, city council members can help set the tone for expectations. Fadumo is a strong spokesperson for improvements in Minneapolis. She believes a worthy goal would be to achieve academic results that make Minneapolis the top school district in Minnesota. She wants to expand basic curriculum offerings for reading, writing, languages, and mathematics and enhance in-school tutoring programs to help Minneapolis students excel in school and life.
HOUSING
Tenants in our communities are struggling with housing authorities. I plan is to ensure all tenant's rights are exercised without restrictions. This includes violating their personal lives. Also to ensure they have access to maintenance and secure environment.
PUBLIC SAFETY
Our communities are at risk of danger due to lack of public safety. I plan is to advise reasonable routine public maintenance. For example placing walk crossing/speed limit signs, bumps in appropriate place as needed. Also allowing public to have clean sidewalks to prevent injuries such as slips and falls during the winter season.
DIVERSITY
Throughout the metro cities citizens are experiencing hate crimes such as verbal and physical assaults due to their attackers lack of education in diversity. I plan to setup educational programs that unify all communities regardless of diversity.
BUSINESS
We need more flow of businesses coming into the metro cities to help residents find employment and become successful in providing for their families. I plan to advise companies to consider locations within the inner cities.
